When I was about the same age as Samantha Smith — around ten years old — I remember hearing her story.
Her letter asking why the world needed war deeply impressed me.
More than forty years have passed since then.
But today it feels like the world is again standing dangerously close to large conflicts.

War in Ukraine.

Tensions in the Middle East.

Growing confrontation between nations.

At the same time, we live in the most connected era in human history.
Billions of people have a voice online.
So I asked myself a simple question:
What if millions of ordinary people spoke up for peace together?
This project is my attempt to bring Samantha’s message back to life.
We just want to live.
Your voice can remind the world that people want peace.
Send a peaceful message to world leaders and international organizations.

Your message will become part of a global archive of voices for peace.

Together, millions of voices can remind the world that people want peace.

People from more than 70 countries have already spoken for peace.
Voices From Around the World

People from different countries are already speaking for peace.

Founder of the Samantha Voice Initiative
I am deeply concerned about what is happening in the world today.

Countries are unable to reach agreements and continue to use violence and weapons. Women and children suffer the most. And I do not see this coming to an end — the situation is only getting worse, with more and more countries becoming involved.

This must be stopped.

We live in an extraordinary time. Today, anyone can send a message to any leader or organization with just one click.

I will continue writing letters.

I invite you to join this movement — to let Samantha Smith’s voice, first heard in 1982, continue and grow stronger through our messages, our letters, and our actions.

Samantha Movement. Samantha Letter. Samantha Listen.

I am a mother, and like many mothers, I worry about the future my children will grow up in.

When I see news about conflicts, weapons, and rising tensions between countries, I feel fear — not for politics, but for people. For families. For children who just want to live, learn, and be safe.

We all live on the same planet. We all want the same simple things: peace, stability, and a future without fear.

I believe that even a small voice matters. And when many small voices come together, they become something powerful.

That’s why I support this initiative.

Living in Geneva, a city of international dialogue, I often think about how close we are to solutions — and yet how far we sometimes feel from real peace.

We have institutions, agreements, and platforms. But behind all of that, there are still human lives affected by decisions that lead to conflict.

Peace is not just a political concept. It is something deeply human.

I believe that ordinary people must not stay silent. Our voices remind leaders what truly matters.

This project is a simple but important step — to show that people around the world are united in one message:

We just want to live.
